Hello and welcome, sweet visitor. My name is Errol Culbert and I'm an illustrator. I graduated from Minneapolis College of Art and Design in the spring of 2014, and have since been working in freelance illustration, graphic design, and product design. I've had the good fortune to work with MPLS / STP Clothing Co, Vestiges Inc, Studio NEXT, and Night Sky Games, among others. In animation, I worked as a background painter for the Netflix series, 12 Forever. I currently design products and run the online store for LegendLark.
I grew up with Greek myths, so the symbolism behind various flora and fauna is a common theme in my work, which is often narrative based. I love doing research based projects and experimenting with the design aesthetics of other eras. Art Deco, Scandinavian Folk Art, and Ukiyo-e are some of my favorites. Outside of illustration I enjoy live theatre in its many forms, fantasy and horror movies, and cooking to relieve stress. I’m also delighted to be a cast member on Legendlark, a TTRPG actual play podcast.
As an avid reader and lover of stories, I want to convey narrative and immersive atmosphere in my work, whether it's book cover design, product design or concept art.
